To relive childhood memories this Raksha Bandhan weekend, we reached our birth place and my mum’s hometown located in Western Rajasthan. The sun’s so bright in this place throughout the year and that’s why it’s called Sun City also known as Jodhpur. Just like any other city in this desert state, it’s also known for its forts and palaces. Besides these historical monuments, we often relate to a place with its food connect and of course, I and my cousins drool over ‘nani ke haath ka khana’, but our earlier breakfast memories are of deep fried onion kachoris and mirchi badas followed by several rounds of masala chai. No continental or Mexican delicacy can beat this local delight often served with two slices of bread. The masala of these balls of treasure is so tangy and satisfying that people usually eat two-three pieces at one go.
